5 Things to Check When AC Won't Start
Check the MCB in Your Distribution Board
This is the first thing I ask every caller. Go to your home's main switchboard and look for the MCB (circuit breaker) dedicated to the AC. If it has tripped, it will be in the middle or "off" position — not fully up like the others.

This is normal behavior — not a fault. The display will be on and the fan may run, but cooling won't start for 3 minutes.
Just wait. If nothing happens after 3–4 minutes, then there's a real problem.
