Step 2 — Replace Batteries

Even "new" batteries may have discharged. AC remotes need minimum voltage for IR transmission — a battery at 50% powers the display but not the IR LED strongly enough. Always test with brand new batteries first before assuming remote failure.

Step 3 — Clean IR Receiver Window

The AC's IR receiver window (bottom right of indoor unit front panel) can accumulate dust, oil film, or paint. Clean with cotton bud. Also ensure clear line of sight — no curtains or furniture between remote and AC.

If Phone Test Shows Remote IS Working — AC IR Problem
